Bit Ridge Blitz

Bit Ridge Blitz was made in 10 days for the GameDev.TV 2023 Game Jam. The theme of the game jam was Life in 2 Dimensions.

For our game we decided to have the player start in a 3D arcade and play a 2D game on an arcade machine. The player plays the 2D game for a few seconds before being transported into the 3D high fidelity version of that game.

The in-game story is:

In the back of a local bowling alley sits a dusty arcade room. Only one of the machines still works.

Even though no one has been seen playing the arcade machine in ages, the room’s lights are always left on and the machine runs perpetually.

After bowling for a few hours with your friends, you decide to poke your head into the arcade to check things out.

We learned a lot in this ambitious project and we had a ton of fun making the game. We hope you enjoy it!
